Heat Wave Coming Our Way

Temperatures are expected to be in the 90's until Thursday.

While the weekend ended with cooler temperatures and a powerful storm, the week ahead looks to be a hot one for Freehold.

Monday started out in the low 80's but according to the National Weather Service temperatures are expected to hit 93 in Freehold with humidity at 74%. For the rest of the week, temperatures are expected to remain in the 90's. Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 96, with Wednesday expected to reach 95 with a chance of thunderstorms and showers in the afternoon.

A heat advisory is currently in effect for Tuesday and Wednesday on the National Weather Service website. The advisory warns that the heat index values for Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon should be in the 100 to 105 degree range. The National Weather Service is asking residents to take necessary precautions to prepare themselves for the upcoming high temperatures this week. The advisory suggests drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air conditioned rooms, staying out of the sun and checking up on relatives and neighbors.
