As mayor of a town that has an increasing pedestrian and non-driving population that currently has no bike lanes, Higgins says these events are important forum for the community.

"The ride brings together residents and visitors in an informal and fun setting and provides another way for our residents to ask questions or make suggestions for our community," said Higgins.

To our fellow residents,

You are invited to join us on a bicycle ride around the Borough.

We will begin our ride at Borough Hall on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. Our route will take us on a leisurely ride thorough the borough with a short excursion onto the Hudson Trial. The ride will last about an hour. Riders of all ages and abilities are welcome! Helmets are required.

We will end our ride back at the municipal building where members of the governing body will be  available for an informal meeting with our citizens. Ask about our land use committee, recreation program, public safety committee, safe streets, or any other concern or suggestion you may have relating to our community.

Please invite your neighbors to participate in this informal meeting with your governing body. If you do not ride, please feel free to join us in front of Borough Hall at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Hope you can join us!
