The Jewish Heritage Museum and the Jewish Federation of Western Monmouth County will present the film SIX MILLION AND ONE at the Museum on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 3:00 PM.  Admission is $10.00 per person. The 2011 film is an Israeli, German and Austrian collaboration with Hebrew and English subtitles.

When Joseph Fisher’s memoir was discovered after his death his children refused to confront it.  Only David, the filmmaker, acknowledged it and it became the compass for a long journey.  Join David Fisher and his siblings as they penetrate the dark tunnels of Gusen, part of an Austrian forced labor camp, where their father had slaved during the Holocaust, illuminated only by flashlights.  As their deepest pains are exposed they find themselves crying and laughing in bitter sweet scenes that give the film a sense of intimacy.

The Jewish Heritage Museum is located at 310 Mounts Corner Drive (at the rear of Mount’s Corner Shopping Center) in Freehold.  It is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and is wheelchair accessible.  For more information call the Museum at 732-252-6990 or visit www.jhmomc.org.
