Business Networking Group Holding Turkey Drive

Members banded together to form a last minute turkey collection when they heard the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties was running low.

A group of Monmouth County business leaders decided to turn a networking event into a charitable opportunity.

Members of the are collecting turkeys and raising funds for the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties in Neptune as part of a last minute push for the Thanksgiving holiday, according to Mike Grieco of in Freehold.

Turkeys or a check for the ABC Networking Turkey Drive may be dropped off to the in Marlboro through 3 p.m on Tuesday. For anybody unable to drop off a turkey, Grieco said Cat Limousine will be able to pick up the donation.

The ABC Networking Turkey Drive developed on Friday during the organization’s weekly social event at Bella Vista Country Club, Grieco said.

“John Bruzzese told us the Foodbank was running low on turkeys for Thanksgiving,” Grieco said. Business owners began volunteering turkey donations and financial contributions and the ABC Networking Turkey Drive was born.

The fundraiser gained a following over the weekend through its Facebook event page and turkey pledges came pouring in from area businesses, Grieco said. As of 10 a.m. on Monday, over 300 turkeys were donated or pledged, he noted.

Jim Sachs of US Foods will transport the donated turkeys from Bella Vista Country Club to the Foodbank on Tuesday afternoon.

Good Morning Jacklyn, Thank you very much for posting this ABC Networking Turkey Drive @ Bella Vista. Last night Bill Algokce from Bridge Financial Group had a spot on 101.5 asking for everyones help in this food drive. We have purchased another 500lbs of potatoes and hoping to reach 500 turkeys today. We are taking money and food all day at the club. Also can you pass this message to as many people as we can as well as Marlboro and other patches. Please it is important that someone from patch is here today for the photos. We are doing this to insure everyone knows that EVERY LAST DOLLAR went to this drive. There are NO adiministrative fee's, deductions, transportation expenses, or anything else that would take away the whole basis of this cause. THANK YOU again so much for helping us. Also get ready for the next big Drive, I have gathered all the Kiwanis clubs to begin a 1000 toy march for children starting Friday, Im looking forward to meeting you and seeking to develop a long term relationship with you to help our Community. Warmest regards Anthony Beshara Bella Vista Country Club
