Freehold Helps Less Fortunate Have a Happy Thanksgiving

Two area organizations are providing all the fixings for a full Thanksgiving meal.

Thanksgiving may be upon us, but there is still time for those less fortunate to get exactly what they need for Thankgiving. Both the Freehold Area Open Door Food Pantry and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church are providing people with a Thanksgiving dinner.

The Freehold Area Open Door is providing families with supplies to make their own Thanksgiving dinner. All fixings needed for dinner can be picked up at the Open Door Food Pantry on 39 Throckmorton Street in Freehold Borough. The food pantry will be open for people to come in and pick up supplies for their own Thanksgiving meal from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

is also stocked and ready to go for Thanksgiving Day. The soup kitchen will be open and serving a hot Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 24. According to Jim Benedict, director of St. Peter’s soup kitchen, their kitchen is fully stocked and they have volunteers ready to serve the Thanksgiving dinner.
