Freehold Kruisers Return This Week

If the forecast holds up for the end of the week this could be a great time to be outside in Freehold.

The farmer’s market will once again be held at CentraState on Wednesday morning and the final Freehold Idol auditions are scheduled to be held on Wednesday night. On Thursday night the Freehold VFW post 4374 will hold the second Kruise night of the month. The events are held the first and third Thursdays of the month through September meaning there are just two more on the schedule before summer comes to an end.

Friday morning the downtown Freehold area is scheduled to host another farmer’s market giving locals another chance to buy fresh fruits and vegetables from local growers.

Fans of the Real Houswives of New Jersey will want to stop by the Freehold Raceway Mall on Saturday morning when Jacqueline Laurita makes a stop at the Microsoft Store. From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. the store will be holding a fundraiser for Daniela’s Wish which was started to help a family with special needs children whose home was destroyed by Super Storm Sandy. The drive will include a collection of home improvement store gift cards which will give donors access to a special meet and greet event.

Freehold Borough Mayor Nolan Higgins will take his Health and Wellness Initiative to the water on Sunday for a Paddle at the Park event at Lake Topanemus at 1 p.m. A limited number of boats will be available at the park but participants are also welcome to bring their own canoes and kayaks.

The Sunday Night Jazz and Blues festival in downtown Freehold will also continue this week with a concert by Kati Beddow Brower and the Billy Henry Trio starting at 7 p.m.
