Full Holiday Schedule in Freehold This Week

A look at events happening in Freehold this week.

Now that Thanksgiving is over and with Hanukkah winding down the holiday season here in Freehold is just getting started.

As long as the weather cooperates the fun should start tonight with the annual menorah lighting at the Hall of Records. The event is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. to celebrate the sixth night of the festival of lights. On Tuesday night the Christmas Tree is scheduled to be lit starting at 5 p.m. with festivities running until 7 p.m. also in front of the Hall of Records with both events held in conjunction with Brock Farms.

Also on Tuesday night the Freehold Art Society will hold its annual exhibit and sale of its members work. The sale is scheduled to be held at the new Jersey Resources Building on Wycoff Road in Wall. The exhibit will be located in the cafeteria and will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

On Thursday night the VFW will host a vendor shopping night at the post starting at 6 p.m. There will be a wide variety of items for sale as well as a 50/50 with coffee and finger foods as well as a cash bar. Participants are also encouraged to bring unwrapped toys for the Toys For Tots Drive.

Beyond the holiday events the Freehold Township Committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday night starting at 8 p.m. at the Town Hall building. The agenda for the meeting can be found here.

On Thursday night the Freehold Township Planning Board is scheduled to meet on an application from New Jersey Natural Gas to install and operate a natural gas fueling station located at 850 Route 33. The application also comes with a soil removal/fill application.  

On Monday night there is a Public Safety Meeting set to be held at Freehold Borough Hall. The meeting is scheduled to start at 5:15 p.m.
