Local Boards Wrap Summer With Meetings This Week

A look at events happening around Freehold this week.

With Labor Day a week away the end of summer is just about here and that means a quieter than usual week here in Freehold.

There is only one meeting in the Borough and two meetings on the calendar in the township as the Freehold Township Committee is scheduled to hold its last meeting of the summer. The agenda has not yet been posted but the meeting is set for Tuesday night at 8 p.m. The Freehold Township Board of Education is also scheduled to meet at the same time in the Central Board Office Conference Room. The Freehold Borough Board of Education is also scheduled to wrap up its work for the summer on Monday night at the Park Avenue Complex.

The Freehold Elks Women’s Auxiliary will be holding a gift auction to close out the month. The event is set for Saturday night at 5 p.m. at the lodge on East Main Street. Items up for auction include a 3-night trip to Cancun, vacations to Wildwood for next summer, comedy club tickets, sports collectibles and more. Admission is just $20 and includes two sheets of tickets for prizes and a ticket to the dessert table.
