Meetings Close 2013 Work for Freehold Governing Bodies

A look at events happening in Freehold this week.

Now that 2013 is almost done the governing bodies in Freehold Township and Freehold Borough are wrapping up their work for the year before 2014 arrives.

The Freehold Borough Council is scheduled to meet on Monday night at 7:30 at Borough Hall. On the agenda is a public hearing on an ordinance that would adjust the public parking times in the Market Yard parking lot. The ordinance has been under consideration for several months and is up for adoption at Monday’s meeting.

Also on the agenda are resolutions to enter into various shared services agreements with Freehold Township for things like health services, automotive services and information technology services. The council is also set to vote on a resolution to purchase two police cars and to appoint Harry Burt as Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Department.

The Freehold Township Committee will meet at 8 p.m. on Tuesday night with an agenda that mainly consists of items to close out the year. There will also be a presentation on Human Trafficking Awareness Day which is set to be held on January 11.

On Thursday night the Freehold Township Planning Board will meet for the last time of the year as well. The board is scheduled to memorialize a resolution to approve an application from New Jersey Natural Gas to build a compressed natural gas fueling station on Route near The Cabin Restaurant.
