Networking Opportunities Highlight Busy Week in Freehold

A look at events happening in Freehold this week.

With the Freehold Borough and Freehold Township governing bodies having already held their reorganization meetings for 2014 it will be a quiet week for meetings in both municipalities.

Smaller boards in the township like the Shade Tree and Recreation Commissions as well as the Zoning Board of Adjustment will start their years in the township on Wednesday and Thursday but no committee meetings are slated until later in the month.

For local business people looking to get a head start on networking this year there will be a special event at Valentino’s Restaurant on Tuesday night. The ABC Networking Group will host the event starting at 6:30 for the special mixer.

A special health event is being held at the St. Rose of Lima Parish Center as the CentraState Novo Nordisk Diabetes Center hosts a free diabetes education class. This is a four-week program that will include lab work and blood glucose monitoring supplies and an assessment for patients without insurance. For more information call 732-637-6369.

The Freehold chapter of the American Association of University Women will hold its first meeting of the year on Thursday night at the Barkalow School. This meeting will feature a reading of Someone Must Wash the Dishes, which was written by a pro-suffragist more than 100 years ago.

Also meeting for the first time this year is the local group of Entrepreneurial Think Tank for Moms. They will meet on Friday morning at 800 West Main Street to start 2014 on a strong note.
