Busy Weekend Planned at iPlay America

A look at events scheduled to be held this weekend in Freehold.

From the start of the weekend to the end iPlay America is looking at a very busy weekend to wrap up January.

The fun starts Friday night when former American Idol competitor James Durbin comes to town with special guest Kelley James. The show starts at 6 p.m. and is a free show followed by the weekly iPlay After Dark when the last note is played. Durbin finished fourth in Season 10 of the popular show.

iPlay will be the site of a SoleXchange on Saturday afternoon where patrons are invited to buy, sell or trade their sneakers at the Schanck Road location. The sale will run from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. and will include more than 50 vendors and VIP packages are available.

When the final shoe has been tied 80s cover band Max Headroom will take the stage at the Game Time Bar & Grill starting at 9 p.m.

There will also be community oriented events this weekend including a blood drive at St. Robert Bellarmine Church on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. For more information contact new jersey Blood Services at 1-800-933-2566.

The Knights of Columbus will also be hosting the local level of their Free Throw Championship at St. Rose of Lima School on Saturday at 1 p.m. The competition is open for children between the ages of 9 and 14. Registration will start for the event at 12:30. Local winners can advance to the district and state competitions and proof of age is required.
