Concerts and Craft Fairs in Freehold This Weekend

A look at events happening in Freehold this weekend.

It will be a busy weekend in Freehold with everything from a craft fair to concerts on the schedule.

The craft fair is scheduled to be held at the Freehold Township Senior Center on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. More than 20 vendors are expected to attend selling everything from jewelry to art to handsewn projects as well as other gifts just in time for the arrival of the holiday season.

Also on Saturday there will be a demonstration of 18th century cooking at the Covenhoven House located on West Main Street. The demonstrations are scheduled to start at noon thanks to the Monmouth County Historical Association.

iPlay America will also have a full schedule this weekend starting with the World of Dance Tour Competition at the Encore Events Center. The Freehold show is one of 14 stops the tour makes around the country and features street dancing and new-aged choreography. On Sunday David Cook of American Idol fame will take the stage at the Freehold venue as well.

On the local scene St. Peter’s Church on Throckmorton Street will host a performance by the Lysander Piano Trio as part of the Downtown Concert Series. Starting at 7:30 p.m. the group brings their talents to Freehold after winning the 2012 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition. The group includes violinist Itamar Zorman, cellist Michael Katz and pianist Liza Stepanova. A reception honoring the group will be hosted by Investors Bank on Main Street after the concert.
