First, the food. As for authenticity, I've been to many Indian restaurants that are small and family-owned with homemade recipes and I've been to top-class world-renowned Indian restaurants to sample all I can and at Ginger, you have a sample right at the heart of Freehold. While the choices are somewhat limited to no more than 12-or-so items, I am quite satisfied with the choices that the Chef has chosen. You are also, apparently, given roti, or Indian Flatbread, and a spicy chicken dish during your dining. I'm sure that was included (as I wasn't charged extra.)

Service-wise, it was a very "friendly and welcoming" one. It's a little much, but it was, nonetheless, friendly. However, the action seen at the kitchen isn't always active - They were relaxed, good for them, but when I had asked about something, there were shrugs and surprises on first enquiry.

The environment… there's definitely an upscale and authentic feel to it. However, it felt a little like a "Mini Cheesecake Factory" with Indian tastes. It's not a complete negative trait, but a little adjustment can be made. It has somewhat of a social environment and foodies who try out multicultural cuisines will definitely collide well here. If not, bring a partner and take a dive into a taste of India.

Overall, I rated this a 4 out of 5. Despite being pricy and going because of a coupon, I believe, if more people tried this, that this restaurant could bring some more dynamic tastes into the region! ★★★★☆…
