Helen Roselle, 88, of Howell Township, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Ocean County Medical Center at Brick. Helen was born in Newark and had lived in Belleville before moving to Howell Township 25 years ago. Before her retirement, she was a cookie dropper at Famous-Amos Cookies in Nutley, NJ. She was a parishioner of The Church of St. Veronica in Howell and a member of the Howell Senior Center. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Louis Roselle in 1983 and a grandson, Danny Valle in 2009. She is survived by two sons, John Roselle and his wife, Paula of Fairfield and Louis Roselle and his wife, AnnaMarie of Pine Brook, NJ; one daughter, Katherine Valle and her husband, Angelo of Howell; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Jenny …

Rosario “Sal” Salvaggio, 85, of Freehold passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and had raised his family in Marlboro before retiring in Manchester Twp., then coming to Freehold in 2007. Sal was a US Army Combat Veteran serving in the Korean War and retired as the purchasing agent for Moore & McCormack Lines in Brooklyn after 38 years in 1986. He was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Twp.  Sal was predeceased by his wife, Josie; brother, John; and sisters, Vita and Angie. Anthony G. Flora, 87, of Freehold Township died on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.  He was born in Jersey City and was a lifelong Freehold Township resident.  Anthony worked in the maintenance department at Nestle in Freehold until retiring in 1992.  Anthony was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Flora, Sr., and Angelina Damato; two sisters, Rose Dresser and Genevieve Nikitin; and a brother, Louis Flora. Robert E.  Arcoleo, Jr., 28, of Freehold Township passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at home.  Robert was born in Neptune and was a lifelong resident of Freehold Township.  He was a graduate of Freehold Borough High School Class of 2002 and was the Class President.  Robert was also a graduate of Temple University Class of 2008 and was employed at Brock Farms Home & Garden World in Freehold Township and Ocean Wholesale Nursery in Jackson.   He loved the outdoors and had a passion for trees. Walter M. Reed, Lifelong Freehold Area Resident, Dies at 88

Former Adelphia Fire Company member

Walter M. Reed, Sr., 88, of Lakewood passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.  Walter was born on May 18, 1924 in Long Branch and was a lifelong Freehold area resident. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II and Korea retiring after 21 years of service at the rank of Master Sergeant.  Walter was then employed by the US Post Office in Farmingdale and the Monmouth County Park System.  He was a life member of the American Legion Post 2000 and the Adelphia Fire Company.  He was predeceased by his parents, Mount and Fannie Estelle Reed; four brothers, Sherman, Eden, Sylvester and Harry Reed; and his sister, Mae Barkalow.   He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Maude L. Claire M. Scotto, 90, of Freehold Township passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Brandywine Assisted Living, Howell. Claire was born in Italy and had lived in Brooklyn before moving to Freehold Township in 1946. Along with her late husband Salvatore, she owned and operated Nature’s Creations Wholesale Florist, Freehold from 1946 to 1992. Claire loved to cook and enjoyed her oil painting. She was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore L. FTHS Graduate David Donald Haneke Dies at 38

Born and raised in Freehold Township

David Donald Haneke, 38, of Toms River, died peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center surrounded by his loving and devoted family.  David was born in Freehold Township and attended local schools there.  He was a graduate of Freehold Township High School and a 2001 graduate of St. Peter’s College in Jersey City, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.   David began his professional career as a Hudson County Probation Officer where he worked until 2005, when he was appointed a United States Probation Officer.  He served proudly in that position until his death. He enjoyed going to the beach, playing softball, going on cruises with his wife, Melissa, and attending baseball games with his dad…

Joseph E. Cole, 83, of Freehold Township passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.  Joe was born in Clarksburg and had lived in Millstone Township before moving to Howell Township in 1955. In his youth, he drove a stock car at the Lakewood Racing Club.  He later enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Combat Infantryman in the Korean War.  Joe was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars and the National Defense Service Medal among others.  Joe was employed as a Motor Vehicle Operator at McGuire Air Force Base, Wrightstown until his retirement in 1988.  At that time, he attended Brookdale Community College, Lincroft.  He was a former Explorer Scoutmaster and …

Ronald was born in Brooklyn and had lived in Long Island before moving to Freehold Township over 20 years ago. He was a self-employed mechanic and the owner of Scrubber Repair Technology, Rahway. Ronald attended St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. He was a member of the Italian-American Club at the Riviera Community. Robert A. McNamara, 78, of Freehold Township, died at home surrounded by his family. McNamara was born in Jersey City and had resided in Freehold Township since 1966. He was a graduate of St. Peter's Preparatory School, Class of 1951 and St. Peter's College, Class of 1955. McNamara served in the U. S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant after being stationed at the Army Signal Corps School at Fort Monmouth. He was Manager of Corporate Properties for PSE&G where he was employed for over 36 years before his retirement in 1993.
