Obituary: Paul Maggio Sr.

Maggio was a US Navy Veteran.

Paul Maggio, Sr., of Howell Township, died on Monday, Sept. 24 at CentraState Medical Center. He was born in Bayonne, NJ and moved to Freehold Township in 1999. He was a Longshoreman/forklift operator for the DOD Army Military Ocean Terminal in Bayonne. Paul was a US Navy Veteran. Maggio was predeceased by his brother Phillip Maggio. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie M. Maggio; one son, Paul Maggio of Cocoa Beach, Florida; one daughter, Ellen Graber and her husband, Wayne of Freehold Township; one grandson, Scott Graber of Mississippi; one granddaughter, Alison Graber and her Fiancé, Thomas Neylan of Freehold; one sister, Ann Fico of Toms River, NJ; and many nieces and nephews. Thomas C. Elliott, 81, of Freehold Township died at home on Thursday, Sept. 20. He lived in Chicago, IL before moving to Freehold Township. Elliott was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was an electrical engineer and was the editor of Power Magazine for McGraw-Hill, Manhattan retiring 16 years ago. Elliott is survived by his wife, Carol M. (Hill) Elliott; three daughters, Jennifer Russell of New London, Connecticut, Rebecca Elliott of Marietta, Georgia, and Pamela Elliott of Long Branch; one son, Terence Patrick Elliott of Milton, Georgia; one sister, Catherine Pastorelle of Chicago; and four grandchildren. Rivello was a US Navy Veteran and involved Freehold Township resident.

Carmen J. Rivello, 75, of Freehold Township died on Thursday, Sept. 20, at his residence. Rivello was born in Perth Amboy and lived there until 1960, moving to Freehold Township in 1965. Rivello began a career with Allstate Insurance in Freehold Township 44 years ago as an Insurance agent, and recently retired as the agency owner. He was a charter member, past distinguished president, and three-time optimist of the year of the Sunrise Optimist Club of Freehold. Rivello was a charter member of the Monmouth Battleground Chorus, Barbershop Singing Society and a three-time barber shopper of the year. William Krupp was an Army Veteran and Freehold resident for over 30 years.

William A. Krupp, 76, of Freehold died at home on Friday, Aug. 24. He was born in Scranton, Pa., and had lived in Cedar Grove, N.J. before moving to Freehold 33 years ago. Krupp was a machinist in the fleet maintenance department for Public Service Electric and Gas in Edison for 37 years before his retirement in 2004. Prior to his employment at P.S.E. & G. he worked for Condenser Services and Engineers, Hoboken, for 13 years.   Krupp was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1961 through 1963. While serving his country, he participated in the 1962 integration of the University of Mississippi by James Merideth , as well as the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a member of the 716th M.P. battalion. Miccio lived in Freehold since 2005.

Michael J. Miccio, 66, of Freehold, passed away on Thursday, July 19 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Long Branch. Miccio, a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War, was born in Queens and lived in Bradley Beach for many years before coming to live in Freehold in 2005. He worked for 3M as a specialized service technician for over 20 years and retired in 2001. Miccio was a member of the American Legion, Brick, a member of the B.P.O.E., Lakewood, as well as an active member of the Medical Reserve Corp of Monmouth County. Alfonso Barba, Jr., 81, of Freehold died at home surrounded by his family on Monday, May 21. Barba was born, raised, and lived his whole life in Brooklyn, NY before retiring to Freehold in December 1999.  He retired as a purchasing agent for Thermodynamics, Brooklyn in 1992.  Prior to that Barba owned and operated his own livery service in Brooklyn.  He was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Freehold Township and a former parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Brooklyn. Bonomo was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Freehold Township.

Anthony J. Bonomo, 89, of Freehold died on Monday, April 30 at CentraState Medical Center.  Bonomo was born in Brooklyn, to the parents of Alessio and Carmela Bonomo, was raised and had lived there until moving to The Villages in Freehold in 2009. Bonomo was a U.S. Army Veteran during World War II serving in the Pacific Theater.  He was 1949 graduate of the City College of New York and was a Certified Public Accountant.  Bonomo was the Treasurer for General Papers Goods Company, Brooklyn for over thirty years retiring in 1988.  In retirement, he worked as an associate for Collabella & Company, Brooklyn. Dorothy “Dottie” Landora, 80, of Freehold Township died peacefully at home on Monday, March 26. Landora was born in Liverpool, England and lived in Bloomfield before moving to Freehold Township in 1996. She was employed at The Washtub, Freehold and Farmingdale, where she worked for fifteen years. Landora enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, playing bingo, and crocheting. She had a great sense of humor, took pride in working hard, and enjoyed socializing and spending time with her family. Weimer was an active family man who enjoyed running and cycling.

Bruce Edward Weimer, 49, of Freehold died suddenly on Sunday, March 25, at home. He was a loving son, beloved brother, devoted husband, and dedicated father. He was always the life of a party, often playing a clown for friends' children's birthdays. Most of all, he was a doting father who never missed a school event or an opportunity to tell his daughters he loved them.
