Curfew Continues in 18 Coastal Monmouth Towns

But suspended in 9 other coastal communities

Monmouth County's coastal curfew remains in effect for 19 municipalities while being suspended in eight others.  Only essential personnel may be outside and on the roads from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in the following municipalities: Allenhurst, Avon-By-The-Sea, Belmar, Deal, Interlaken, Hazlet, Highlands, Keansburg, Keyport, Lake Como, Loch Arbour, Manasquan, Monmouth Beach, Neptune Township, Ocean Grove, Sea Bright, Sea Girt and Union Beach. Monmouth County Curfew Begins Tuesday Night

Curfew will run from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. and will continue until further notice.

UPDATE 8:30- Closure information included: Most Monmouth County offices will be closed on Wednesday following Hurricane Sandy. All non-essential offices will be closed while essential functions like public works and law enforcement will still be on patrol according to a press release from the county.  The Election Office is scheduled to be open as Wednesday is the deadline for Vote By Mail applications. Curfew Set for Freehold Borough

Curfew set for 7 p.m. tonight.

Freehold Borough Police have issued a curfew for Tuesday, Oct. 30. According to Chief Glen Roberts, there is no power in Freehold Borough, but, the town is holding up well considering. Additional crews have been added to the force and will be making rounds throughout the Borough all night. “If residents are having issues and can not reach police by phone they can keep an eye out on the street and wave down an officer when they spot one,” explained Roberts. “Officers will be traveling down side streets and all parts of the Borough.” In addition to extra crews, Roberts explained that a curfew has been issued for all residents.
