Freehold Borough Council Will Reimburse Storm Costs with Emergency Appropriations

The Freehold Borough Council will reimburse costs related to Hurricane Sandy through a newly passed emergency appropriations resolution. At the Nov. 19 Freehold Borough Council meeting, the council unanimously passed the resolution that authorizes $400,000 to be spent towards costs from Hurricane Sandy. “As you can all imagine there are significant costs related to this storm and what we are doing is an emergency appropriations that we have determined to be in the best interest of the Borough to finance and reimburse costs related to the recovery efforts,” said Councilman Kevin Kane prior to passing the resolution. “There were a lot of police and borough personnel working overtime, as well as tree removal work.
