The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders has partnered with the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and has set a goal of collecting 25,000 pounds of to non-perishable food for the entire month of April.
The school collected 7,330 items for the local food pantry.

Students at St. Rose of Lima School collected over 7,000 items to donate to the Freehold Open Door Food Pantry. This is the first year that the school held the “Loaves and Fishes Hunger Challenge”. Kickoff for the challenge was during Catholic Schools Week and emphasized the value of giving to others. This food drive was born after the school’s PTA learned this past year, more than 127,000 people needed emergency food supplies in the Freehold community. “Our students and families rose to the call to feed the hungry and gave generously from their hearts,” said Janet Drudy, Religion teacher.
