Sandy Damaged 18 Homes in Freehold

Close to 2,900 businesses in both Freehold Borough and Freehold Township reported damage or impact from Hurricane Sandy.

Sandy inflicted damage on 14 homes in Freehold Township and four in Freehold Borough, according to an analysis of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs data by NJSpotlight.com.  Rental homes also suffered damage. While not as substancial as home damage, one rental property in Freehold Township reportly recieved minor damage from the historic storm, while in Freehold Borough one rental property's damange was considered minor while another was considered major. One home in Freehold Township was considered severely damaged, with more than $28,800 in assessed damage. Damage under $8,000 was considered "minor." Severe damage--defined as over $28,800 in costs--was not reported to any Freehold Borough homes. Freehold Township reported 13 …

New Staffing Agency Coming to Freehold

Express Employment Professionals will be opening their doors in Freehold this Spring.

In 2013 a different kind of business will be opening its doors in Freehold amongst the many different dining and shopping establishments. Express Employment Professionals, a staffing agency, has chosen Freehold to be the home of their newest location thanks to franchisee Jim Puliafico of East Brunswick.  As a former bra designer, Puliafico has been in the business world for over 30 years. However, recent changes in the industry caused Puliafico to begin looking for a change in career. “I left the fashion industry in July because a lot of the clothing industry in general has gone over seas,” explained Puliafico. “With less opportunity here, I hadn’t really been happy for a number of years, so this was a perfect sign for me to take a break …

Customers can drop off their technology for recycling at the service desk, regardless of where it was originally purchased.

Looking for quality employees? Urban SociaLites (USL), a full service social and entertainment company, is hosting a job fair and they are looking for employers to sign-up. USL will host the 2nd Annual Job Fair on Thursday, May 17th starting at 10:00 a.m. at the YMCA in Freehold. The Brio Tuscan Grille is hiring 120 local employees to work at their new location.

The Freehold Raceway Mall will add another delicious option to it’s roster of restaurants. The Brio Tuscan Grille will celebrate its grand opening and start serving upscale affordable Italian cuisine on May 3. The restaurant will feature made-to-order pastas, grilled and oven-roasted steaks, chops and fresh fish as well as delicious entrée salads, flatbreads and bruschettas. They will also offers an extensive brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays until 3 p.m. in addition to the regular menu. Tried Brio Restaurant with a party of 6 on 5/29/2012. We will not return. Costumer service is very poor from hostess to server to cook to manager. This restaurant needs to get its act together to survive in Freehold, NJ. Brio needs a hands on upfront manager who can spot incompetence and build customer service.   more ›
