A portion of sales made at Foodtown on Friday, March 22 through Sunday, March 31 will go towards the Freehold Memorial Day Parade.
The Freehold Memorial Day Parade Committee is continuing to raise money for the oldest and largest parade in Western Monmouth County. Starting on Friday, March 22 residents have an opportunity to help fundraise for the parade by shopping at Foodtown. According to the parade’s website, 5% of your purchase at Foodtown will be donated to the parade. In order to donate 5% of your grocery bill, you must bring the flyer, seen in the photo gallery, and present it at check out. “It [fundraisers] is how the Memorial Day Parade gets a lot of their funds. A lot of the bands you see, this is how we pay for them,” explained Councilman George Schnurr. “We all have to get food sooner or later. The last time we did this, it was a huge fundraiser for us. …

The Freehold Memorial Day parade is starting to raise money for the upcoming parade with some area events. According to the parade's website, the Freehold Memorial Day parade is the oldest and largest parade in Western Monmouth County and averages more than 70 units participating each year. This year the parade will be held on Monday, May 27. Help raise money for this parade by participating in the fundraising events at Foodtown, Fireside Grill and Bar and The Cabin.
