Extreme Calories at America's Chain Restaurants in Freehold

Looking to cut calories? Avoid these chain restaurant dishes.

If you're currently craving a country fried steak or loaded french fries, think again. Satisfying the craving may ruin your 2013 diet for the year.  According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest, major chain restaurants across the nation are piling on the carbs and calories, despite the national obesity rate leveling off. "It's as if IHOP, The Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano's Little Italy, and other major restaurant chains are scientifically engineering these extreme meals with the express purpose of promoting obesity, diabetes, and heart disease," said CSPI executive director Michael F. As the owner of an IHOP restaurant I'm a little disappointed in the tone and incomplete information in this article. All of the restaurant chains listed in this article have healthier choices on their menu. Update: What is Open in Freehold

Tell us what businesses you have seen open and what they have in stock.

Filled parking lots and long lines were found at neighborhood stores as residents traveled to find essentials Wednesday. Freehold Patch facebook readers shared that ShopRite, Acme, Top Tomato, Walmart, Sam’s Club and Mellon Farms were open Wednesday. Today, the Freehold locations of ShopRite and Acme were removed off of the closed store list on their websites and should be open today. According to the Freehold Raceway Mall’s website and Facebook page, it is still without power and will be closed today. When heading to stores remember to bring cash.
