It's that time of year to buy Girl Scout cookies!
As a former Girl Scout, there are a few important things to know: the Girl Scout Promise and Girl Scout Law by heart, all the songs you sing at camps down cold and the perfect speech for selling Girl Scout cookies in your town. I still know the Girl Scout Law, I haven’t forgotten the lyrics (and accompanying dance steps) to “Make New Friends”, and I’ll always remember ringing the neighbor’s doorbells with my Brownie sash on, ready to recite why they needed at least 20 boxes of Thin Mints. Girl Scouts will be selling cookies door-to-door and at local establishments.
For those who love Girl Scout cookies, it may start to feel like the holiday season all over again. Beginning today, Girl Scout cookies are now available in Freehold. According to a Girl Scout Troop 2780 spokesperson, scouts will be selling cookies door-to-door and at local establishments. A press release for the Girl Scouts of Monmouth and Ocean Counties states that starting today, eight varieties of cookies will be on sale. The eight cookies on sale include Samoas, Thin Mints, Tagalongs, Do-Di-dos, Trefoils, Savannah Smiles, Dulce de Leche and Thank U Berry Munch. Each box of cookies cost $4. While the cookies are delicious, sales of Girl Scout cookies gives girls multiple opportunities to raise funds that help them achieve the goals …

Local troop leaders: tell us where you'll be selling cookies this season.
We picked a bad time to go low carb. Not only is Cadbury Egg season upon us, but now it's Girl Scout cookie time and those girls in the little sashes are everywhere. EVERYWHERE. They're selling cookies at the local Wal Mart, at the Freehold Car Wash, at Dick's Sporting Goods, for goodness sake. What are these kids trying to do to us? And it's not like they are sticking with the usual big guns of Thin Mints and Samoas, nooo. They've added a new confectionery to their sweet arsenal, the Savannah Smile, "a cool, crisp lemon wedge" in commemoration of 100 years of Girl Scouts.
