Freehold Borough Fire Department Assists in Manalapan Diner Roof Fire
No injuries were reported; the fire appears to be accidental.
The Freehold Borough Fire Department was called to assist in the early morning roof fire of Gus's Diner, located at Route 33 East in Manalapan Township. At about 1:47 a.m. on Tuesday, Manalapan police were called to the scene by a motorist who reportedly saw flames from the restaurant roof while driving past the establishment. Firefighters quickly responded to the scene and doused the flames. Manalapan Fire Company #1, Gordon's Corner Fire Company, Englishtown Fire Department, Adelphia Fire Company and Freehold Borough Fire Department all responded to the scene.
