Upcoming Christmas Events in Northern Monmouth

Here are some ways to celebrate Christmas with your neighbors.

Toys For Tots Donate new, unwrapped toys to Toys For Tots at the Laundry Mill or the Cliffwood VFW.  Holiday Book Drive Barnes & Noble of Holmdel will host a holiday book drive through Jan. 1. This year Barnes & Noble in Holmdel's annual bookdrive will be benefiting Holiday Express, a local charity benefitting individuals in need right here in our own neighborhoods. NJ TRANSIT Offers Extra Service in Anticipation of Busy Holiday Week

The agency will also offer discounts to families traveling over the holidays.

NJ TRANSIT is offering additional service over the holiday week, along with a special extension of the Family Super Saver Fare, according to a press release from the agency. The Family Super Saver Far allows up to two children 11-years-old and younger to travel free with each fare-paying adult and will be offered from 7 p.m. on Friday Dec. 21 through 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2 on all trains, buses and light rail lines.  Extra service will provide more travel options, according to the release, whether customers are heading toward the mall for some last-minute shopping or getting a head start on the Christmas holiday. You want to capture those lights on your camera, but getting those lights to look right in your pictures can be more of a challenge than you bargained for. Jolly Trolley is Coming to Town

Jolly Trolley rides will begin on Friday, Dec. 14 and continue through Sunday, Dec. 16

The Freehold tradition of the Jolly Trolley will continue this year with the help of Ocean First Bank and Freehold Regional High School students.  From Friday evening, until Sunday night, the Jolly Trolley will be rolling out of Sun Bank on Main Street and will give riders an historic and seasonal look back at Freehold through the years. Students from Howell High School’s Fine and Performing Arts Academy (FPAC) will be highlighting many historical stops throughout Freehold aboard the trolley, which will be festively decorated with bows, garlands, and wreaths, for the occasion. Holiday House Tour Returns This Weekend

Tickets still available for Freehold Borough Historic Preservation Commission’s second annual Holiday House Tour.

For the second year in a row, the Freehold Borough Historic Preservation Commission is getting residents into the holiday spirit with a historic twist. On Saturday, Dec. 8 the commission is hosting their second annual Holiday House Tour. The tour will bring guests to a select number of decked-out homes and buildings that visually celebrate the traditional holiday season. According to a press release, stops on this year’s tour include Olive Branch Lodge No. 16, Covenhoven House, and three neighborhood homes. Guests on the tour will be able to enjoy festive decor inside and outside the homes, many of which feature family heirlooms and traditions.
