Police: Man Used Stolen Credit Cards to Buy Over $1K Worth of Merchandise

Man allegedly used a fraudulent driver’s license and stolen credit cards to buy $1,114.97 worth of merchandise from Lord & Taylor.

Freehold Township Police arrested a Garfield man after he allegedly used stolen credit cards to purchase over $1,000 worth of merchandise from a Freehold Raceway Mall store.  Ruali Alvarez-Diaz, 45, of Palisade Avenue, faces a charge of identity theft, credit card theft and possession of a fraudulent driver’s license. According to the complaint warrant, Diaz knowingly possessed a fraudulent New York driver’s license with a name identified as A. R. In addition to allegedly possessing the fraudulent driver’s license, Diaz is also accused of identity theft for representing himself as A. R.
