Carrell, an FTHS graduate and former Freehold Township Public Works Department employee, is survived by his wife and 5-month-old daughter.
Mark D. Carrell, 43, of Buena Vista, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Lewis Gale Medical Center, Salem, VA. Mark was born in Bloomfield, raised in Freehold Township and had lived in Florida for 10 years before returning to Freehold Township. He settled in Buena Vista with his wife, Amber in 2011. He was a 1987 graduate of Freehold Township High School, where he played baseball. Mark was on many teams in the softball leagues at Liberty Oak Park (Michael Tighe Park) in Freehold Township. He was a street hockey goalie and loved to play volleyball on the beach. Living in Raintree, he would spend time at Moore’s Tavern.
