UPDATE: Courthouse Set to Open 1:30 on Tuesday
Testing comes back negative
After a week of being closed the Monmouth County Courthouse will open again on Tuesday afternoon. The building will open to the public as of 1:30 p.m. according to Monmouth County Public Information Officer Laura Kirkpatrick. The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services said in a press release Monday afternoon that since the courthouse was closed on June 18 all test results have come back negative. The testing and closure came as a result of dozens of employees reported feeling ill on two separate occasions. State Health Department officials took 10 air samples and also looked for "a wide range of 'volatile organic compounds.'" Among the items tested for were benzene and chemicals found in cleaners.
