Two Indicted in 2011 Murder and Home Invasion of Freehold Resident

Two Neptune men have been indicted on eight charges each surrounding the home invasion and murder of a Freehold Township resident.

The following information comes from an official release from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. A Monmouth County Grand Jury handed up an indictment charging Richard Busby, 55 and Jeffery Mayhue, 49, both formerly of Neptune Township for the 2011 home invasion and murder of Michael Conway of Freehold Township, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced today. This indictment stems from an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of July 31, 2011, in Freehold Township. At approximately 6:10 a.m. on that date, firefighters and police responded to a house fire located at 200 Jackson Mills Road. Colts Neck Man and Woman Indicted For Freehold Burglaries

Carole Carney, 25 and Michael Grabowski, 30 were indicted on four counts of burglary in Freehold Township.

Carole Carney, 25 and Michael Grabowski, 30 of Colts Neck were both indicted last week on three counts of burglary, after being charged with the burglary of three homes in Freehold Township in June. Carney and Grabowski were the target of a police investigation, after burglaries on Buckingham Drive, Hoover Street and Camille Lane in Freehold Township, according to an arrest warrant issued by the Freehold Township Police Department. Jewelry in the amount of at least $40,000 was stolen from the home on Buckingham Drive, according to police records.  Carney and Grabowksi were also indicted on one charge of fencing by trafficking stolen property valued at $871.

Former Senior Center Director Pleads Guilty to Theft

Arlene Golub, 70, admitted to keeping a $4,284 payment from an area travel agency to Freehold Township.

The former director of the Freehold Township Senior Center pleaded guilty to theft today. According to Prosecutor Peter E. Warshaw, Arlene Golub, 70, of Freehold Township, admitted to keeping a $4,284 payment from an area travel agency that had arranged two vacation cruises for Senior Center members. The discovery of the crime was unveiled in a joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Freehold Township Police Department after a complaint was forwarded to the police department in Sept. During the investigation, detectives discovered that as the director of the senior center, Golub organized two cruise ship excursions- one departing on March 14, 2009 and the other on May 27, 2010.
