Rahway Woman Accused of Using Stolen Prescription Blank to Obtain Oxycodone

Woman allegedly attempted to get the drugs from a Freehold Township CVS.

A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict a Rahway woman on three drug-related charges following a January incident. Valerie Scott, 48, is accused of attempting to obtain a controlled dangerous substance by fraud, uttering a forged instrument and receiving stolen property. According to Scott’s indictment, she used a forged prescription blank to attempt to obtain oxycodone at a Freehold Township CVS. The indictment further explained that Scott knew that the prescription blank used was stolen. The alleged incident took place on Jan. 2.

Woman Accused of Passing Forged Prescription at Freehold CVS

Freehold Township Police arrested a woman and charged her with forgery, receiving stolen property and uttering a forged document.

A woman was arrested and charged by Freehold Township Police on Wednesday, after she allegedly attempted to use a forged prescription to obtain a controlled dangerous substance. Valerie Scott, 48, whose last known address is in Rahway, allegedly entered the Freehold Township CVS and tried to fill a prescription for oxycodone. For the alleged action, Scott has been charged with fraud and with receiving stolen property. According to Scott’s complaint warrant, she allegedly knew the prescription blank she possessed was stolen. Scott has also been charged with uttering a forged document. Scott has been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) on $60,000 bail.

Man Allegedly Uses Fake Prescription, License at Local Pharmacy

The Pennsylvania man obtained oxycodone from Walgreens in Freehold Township by falsely presenting himself as a physicians assistant.

Freehold Township Police arrested a man from Pennsylvania who allegedly pretended to be a physicians assistant in order to get oxycodone from a local pharmacy. James Shetzline, 42, of Bensalem, allegedly used a fake Pennsylvania driver’s license and a false prescription on Sunday, June 10 at the Walgreens in Freehold Township. Shetzline is charged with attempting to obtain a controlled dangerous substance and two counts of forgery: using a fraudulent prescription; and using a fraudulent driver’s license. His bail is set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 12 at 8:00 a.m.
