Freehold Police Pass the Torch for Special Olympics of New Jersey
Officers will take part in the 29th annual Special Olympics Torch Run on the morning June 8 to kick off the summer competitions.
Freehold police will take to the streets and run a "mini PT test" for a very special cause. On June 8, the Freehold Borough and Freehold Township Police Departments will pass the torch as they run down Route 9 and through the borough for the 29th Annual Special Olympics Torch Run. The statewide run kicks off a weekend of Special Olympics games, held at The College of New Jersey in Ewing. Over 3,000 law enforcement officers will run throughout New Jersey, to raise money for special needs children to attend the games free of charge.
