Billiard Hall Looks to 'Break' The Mold in Howell
Side Pocket appeals to players of all ages and skills
Walking into Side Pocket Billiards in the Friendship Mall on Route 9 owner David Chennells wants everyone from the first time player to the seasoned veteran to feel comfortable at one of their 12 tables. For people who might think of a pool hall as a dark smoky place Chennells said he wants his location to be much more family friendly and open to everyone. "The goal is to promote friendly competition and to keep billiards alive," he said. Chennells said he knows some people have a bad view of billiards but said the game, which dates back to the 1800's, is something special to take part in.
