Golom was an active in both Freehold and Howell.
Herbert Daniel Golom, 86, of Howell Township died on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at home. Golom was born in New York and later moved to Freehold. He was a graduate of Freehold High School and enlisted in the US Army/Air Corps in Aug. 18, 1943. After being discharged, Golom joined his father, Joseph Golom and his brother, David Golom in their plumbing and heating business. Golom was a construction official for Toms River for many years and was a member of the American Legion Post #178 in Howell and Farmingdale. He was also a member of the Adelphia Fire Company for 59 years. Herbert was also a faithful member of the Elks for many years. His enjoyment was bowling, fishing, hunting, skiing and golfing.
