ReplyGet rid of the run down building at the corner of High St. and Main St. across from the train station. Put another business in there or turn it into a park, so people can enjoy Lake Matawan. Many people come and go and pass on that train and this is the impression they're getting of Matawan.

ReplyI agree with more new businesses on Main Street. I also think the closed 7-11 should be turned into a park with picnic tables, benches or a swing, posisble paddle boats so people can enjoy the beauty and nature of Lake Matawan. Maybe add more fish too. I also think the beautiful, historic buildings on Main Street need to be preserved.

ReplySomething similar applies to Verizon Fios. I think it's a nice gesture for companies to do something rather than nothing.

Yuncong, I'm a resident there too. I follow Matawan Police Department on Facebook and they said we should have power by lunchtime today. The crew worked during the storm when than they weren't supposed to. The facebook post by Lt. Gallo said:
Power Update:
I just spoke with the workers from Ohio working on Main Street.
They advised me that their work will be complete tonight, but the final repair to the substation should be done early tomorrow, hopefully by lunch.His map included Main Street, Broad Street, and Orchard Street.
These guys are up in high bucket trucks in the snow and wind.
Pray for their safety , as they could've called it quits for the night, but didn't.

I was thinking the same thing Danielle said. I drink water all day long (through a Brita filter.) Can you please keep us up to date on Matawan's water as I was not aware of this. Thank you.
