ReplyWe are so over taxed in LV that we can't sell our homes, we pay MORE % wise the Menham (we must be loaded to have more cash to burn then they do in relation to the cost of our homes).
I think if the teachers bring it into the classroom they shouldn't be teachers.

okay, I was a teacher, I was a homeschooler (talk about long hours), and I worked in a corporation. Currently we pay MORE then 50% of the cost of health care at my husbands company, we PAY into a 401K (no pension plan) which they match 2% of the first 6% (or next to nothing), he gets 4 weeks off (but hasn't taken it in YEARS), he works 7 days a week 10-16 hours a day (averaged out), he works most 'holidays', and at the end of the day we are glad he has a job.
His company has raised the cost of benefits and NOT given raises for the last 3 years (bad economy) - yes, that means our income has gone down and we have had to give stuff up ... as did most Americans.
(in case any teachers are thinking he is blue collar he's not he's a executive in IT/Networking)
Yes teachers have an impact on a child's life, yes they have to re-align their classes - guess what that IS part of having a job.

Replyi'll say it again .... if you want $$$$ to move to town make part of one of the schools a magnet school for the gifted.
look at the districts with gifted kids and look at the income the parents make.
our gifted program in this town sucks - if your kids is seriously gifted then you pull them and either homeschool, go private if you have the money, or move.
and when i say gifted i mean REALLY gifted. hook up with a group like davidson,
and build a school for 'profoundly gifted' (we are talking the .01%) -

Change in Chester .. when a house in LV that is worth 400K pays the SAME school taxes as a house in Mendham worth 1.2M how is that fair?
Menham and Chester pay more because their houses are worth more.
Guess what someone earning 300K SHOULD pay higher taxes then someone earning 40K ... deal with it.
I would be happy to split from the 'nasty you attitude' of the Mendham/Chesters telling us WMC people we are low class, poor, idiots.
